There are several ways to include the Ayrshire Hospice in your Will. Any gift you give, whatever size - even 1% - will make a big difference.

Residuary Gift

Leaving a percentage or share of your estate to the Hospice. This is the simplest way to leave a gift in your Will.

Pecuniary Gift

Leaving a fixed sum of cash to the Hospice.

Call Lucy, our Individual Giving and Legacies Fundraiser, to find out more about the different types of legacy gifts on 01292 288 488.

Specific Gift

A specific item, such as jewellery, clothes, furniture or art.

The Ayrshire Hospice, including our charity shops, can be included in your Will to inherit your belongings.

Expression of Wish

An expression of wish form tells your pension provider who should benefit from your pension if you were to die before you retire. Beneficiaries can receive any size of share of your pension.

Tips to get you started

Before meeting with a solicitor, it is useful to make a list of your assets and what you want to consider in your Will. It may even be in your interest to arrange to speak with a financial advisor before writing your Will.

Some examples of assets are:

  • Your home and property (including any mortgages)
  • Your car (including loans and agreements)
  • Furniture and other household items
  • Jewellery and other items of worth
  • Stocks and shares
  • Money in bank or building society accounts
  • National savings and/or other savings schemes
  • Insurance policies and pensions

Once at your appointment, the only information to take with you to make sure we are included in your Will is the name of our charity (the Ayrshire Hospice) and our charity number (SC011390).

Whether you've decided to leave a gift in your Will or would like more information, we'd love to hear from you!

"I can't thank Ayrshire Hospice enough for all they did for my big sister, Karen; their kindness and compassion continues to amaze me every day.

They don't just deal with end of life treatment - they provide love and care to the whole family. From complementary therapy and massage to counselling and much more, the staff just make everything easier at a time when you no longer think anything can."
