Tracy was delighted to return to the Ayrshire Hospice in October 2021, initially as Director of Patient and Family Services, before taking on the Chief Executive role in May 2022, where she can harness her senior nursing and leadership experience. Having studied Nursing in Edinburgh she has held roles in both palliative and end-of-life care settings as well as cancer care. A move to work within the pharmaceutical industry initially as a nurse before taking the leap into leadership positions - including national roles and managing clinical teams - saw Tracy develop change management, sales, and marketing experience. Tracy has managed teams serving healthcare stakeholders in both NHS and private sectors and has also managed her own limited company.

Having undertaken nursing roles across our In-Patient Unit and Day Services between 2013 and 2018, Tracy then moved on to working as a specialist palliative care nurse within the Ayrshire Hospice community team supporting East Ayrshire patients and their families. Tracy played a key role in the scoping and development of the Triage service prior to a move back to the NHS in 2018. Caring for patients with a colorectal cancer diagnosis as an Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist gave Tracy further insight into the challenges a difficult diagnosis can bring. During her time in this most recent advanced practice post, Tracy studied towards her Master's in Health Studies and completed both non-medical prescribing and clinical examination courses at UWS.

Tracy spent her childhood years in Ayr and now lives locally having also lived and worked in London, Edinburgh and Glasgow with her husband. She has a strong sense of family and is a proud mum of two beautiful and grounded daughters. Tracy can be found running (albeit slowly) around the pavements of Ayr and hopes one day to complete a marathon. Dancing inspires her and she practices both Reiki and meditation. It is her passion for the Ayrshire Hospice, the immense care it provides and the people within its teams that sees Tracy return and she has a firm belief that she can make a difference to the community of Ayrshire.
