Held on 27th August, over 400 people took to the streets of Ayr for the annual Ayrshire Hospice Shining Star Memory Walk, sharing memories of their loved ones and raising much-needed funds.

We are delighted to confirm that the total raised from this spectacular evening is £60,962.94. Funds raised will support specialist palliative and end of life care for patients with life limiting illnesses across Ayrshire and Arran, in addition to counselling and support services for their families.

On the evening, walkers enjoyed a warm-up before heading out on their chosen route of 4, 9 or 13-miles. En route, walkers were entertained by local musicians and performers, fuelled up on snacks donated by local businesses, and neighbours lined the streets to cheer them on.

Rebekah McGinn, Ayrshire Hospice Senior Fundraiser, said: “We are so proud of the efforts of every single walker who took part in the Shining Star Memory Walk. We are proud of their achievement, and proud of their fundraising efforts which helped raise an incredible total. Well done everyone! We are once again very grateful for the support of Robin Henderson and his team at Ayr Audi for their generous support and sponsorship, and to all in our community who made the night a success.”
